Dancing with Disappointment, Surfing with Uncertainty: Oct 16 & Nov 6 11:30am PST.  The COVID crisis has caused everything from overseas studies travel to Senior Spring events to graduation, events big and small, to be cancelled.  As we are becoming accustomed to life online, physically distant but on similar wavelengths, we are having to do a new dance.  This gathering will allow us to share with each other the losses we are experiencing, to acknowledge our grief and to share strategies for navigating these feelings.  We hope to make our way to freedom, movement and even delight as we learn to dance with disappointment. For students only.

Lunchtime Music from MemChu: University Organist Robert Huw Morgan presents a weekly lunchtime concert of music from MemChu. All these will consist of music recorded during services and concerts in the church.

Religious Advising Thursdays, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. PST Do you have a question about your faith walk? Are you seeking to deepen your spiritual life? Rev. Dr. Zandra L. Jordan, an ordained gospel minister serving at University AME Zion Church, Palo Alto, is holding Christ-centered religious advising on Thursday afternoons. Please sign-up for a virtual appointment.

Mondays Student-Led Yoga is intended as a means of making the mental and physical benefits of asanas readily available to all, regardless of where you are on your yogi journey. Expect to move with your breath: this well-balanced Vinyasa flow class intends to get you out of your head and into your body, and modifications will always be available. Student Grief and Loss Gathering:  Oct 15 & Nov 5 4-5pm PST. If you are currently or have ever experienced the death of a significant person in your life, or are experiencing feelings of grief in a time of uncertainty, this is an opportunity to share your experiences, suggestions, and concerns about the mourning process. For students only.

Thursday Guided Meditation is designed to offer basic meditation skills, to encourage regular meditation practice, to help deepen self-reflection, and to offer instructions on how meditation can be useful during stressful and uncertain times. Tuesdays Evening Yin and Restorative Yoga Class with YogaX and the Office for Religious & Spiritual Life with Heather Freeman: This live-streamed class explores gentle movement, breath, and mindfulness to to support sleep, healthful rest, and enhanced resilience.  Minimal prop use is required to allow participants to do this practice at home, sharing it with roommates, partners, children, and pets as desired. Wednesdays Evening Sitting Space is a student-led meditation group that aims to foster meditative practices and conversation about the benefits of meditation.
