Concerts have always played a major part in the life of Memorial Church. Organ concerts, choral concerts, non-western concerts have all found a home here, not just for the campus, but for the general community.
The celebrated organs, including the masterpiece by Charles Fisk, have attracted performers from all over the world. Many student groups have performed at the church, and outside groups, including the choirs of St. John's College, Cambridge, Westminster Abbey, the St. Olaf Choir, and so on, have all enjoyed the radiant acoustic that Memorial Church offers.
Obviously, during this time of such uncertainty, live concerts have been put on hold. However, online concerts will be offered during this academic year. We look forward to welcoming student groups, featuring both western and non-western music. It will be wonderful to have their voices to help us through this time. Additionally, internationally acclaimed University Organist, Robert Huw Morgan, will perform some evening recitals, in addition to his popular Wednesday lunchtime recitals.
We look forward to welcoming you online, to these events, and look forward to the day when we can welcome you in person to this great space.
University Organist Robert Huw Morgan presents a weekly lunchtime concert of music from MemChu. All these will consist of music recorded during services and concerts in the church.
