Rathbun Activism Summit

Main content start

When/Where: Monday, April 5 - Wednesday, April 7, 2021, virtual conference

Summary/Vision: Today’s college students have the world at the fingertips. They are inundated with news and communications from throughout the country and around the world online. Through digital channels, they are connecting more than ever with their peers. The intention of this summit is to put a spotlight on the topics that matter deeply to students and bring the path forward to the light.

In the spirit of Harry and Emilia Rathbun’s work to advance Stanford students’ development as citizens of the world, we’ll gather virtually for conversations, panels and experiences with activists who are tackling the issues impacting their lives and futures, such as racial injustice, climate change, gun violence, and gender and LBGTQ equality.

Stanford University will host a historic gathering of global youth activists in Spring Quarter 2021 as part of the prestigious Rathbun Program. The goal of the summit is to bring together youth activists from diverse sectors through a series of keynote presentations and workshops to inspire, empower and ignite movements for change led by young people around the world. Students will collaborate, network, and train new leaders.

This Youth Summit is a historic moment for Stanford University as we seek to expand the prestigious Rathbun Program from a keynote lecture to an immersive and interactive conference for student activists to network, train, and collaborate across diverse sectors as they mobilize movements for change around the world.
