Memorial Church Usage Policy

The church includes a diversity of programs and assemblies in its space and primarily exists to provide opportunities for worship, reflection, spiritual practice, conversation, education, and community building related to religious, spiritual, ethical, and moral formation. Through the governance of the Stanford University Board of Trustees and guidance of the Memorial Church Advisory Board, approval for all reservations will be determined by the Event Manager under the direction of the Dean of Office for Religious & Spiritual Life.

Memorial Services

Memorial Church is a center for religious and spiritual life on campus, and therefore is frequently used as the site for memorial services for the Stanford community.

Music at MemChu

Concerts have always played a major part in the life of Memorial Church. Organ concerts, choral concerts, non-western concerts have all found a home here, not just for the campus, but for the general community.

University Public Worship (UPW)

University Public Worship gathers weekly for the religious, spiritual, ethical, and moral formation of the Stanford community. Rooted in the history and progressive Christian tradition of Stanford’s historic Memorial Church, we cultivate a community of compassion and belonging through ecumenical Christian worship and occasional multifaith celebrations.
